- MINISTRIES FOR ALL AGES
Nursery Ages 0-3
We offer loving care in the cleanest, safest nursery facilities with simply the best caregivers. Rest assured that your little ones are in great, caring hands. Nursery is located downstairs. Please ask an usher if assistance is needed.
SOUL Patrol is our program for children on both Wednesday and Sunday morning. We are proud to have a fabulous NEW SPACE just for SOUL Patrol! Each Wednesday, SOUL Patrol is available for kiddos K-5 from 4:15-6p. Children can shuttle to our program from their school to Joyce and we will walk them safely to the church. Children from all denominations are welcome to join us as we share the love of Christ and help these young ones learn and grow in their faith. SOUL Patrol Sundays will be for preschool (Age 3) through 5th grade from 10:45-11:45. Children will continue to learn through music, activity, and multi-media resources in our top notch SOUL Patrol room!
Middle School Youth
“Works in Progress”, that’s middle schoolers! It is also our theme this year. We will be changing things up a bit this year. We are actually going to be meeting from 5:50-7pm downstairs in the youth room. We will be eating together in a “Family Style” setting as it promotes everyone sitting together at a table, praying, serving ourselves, sharing thoughts and cleaning up when finished. The atmosphere will be calm and promote unity. We will begin our lesson for the evening while sitting around the table in fellowship and end our evenings with a hands on activity that is related to our night’s lesson that will get the kids actively involved. Our hope is that our new design is fun, purposeful, and helps guide the youth to being servant leaders within the church. Our leaders this year will be Margaret Nightengale and Kelsey Hayzlett.
High School Youth
High School will be meeting from 7-8:30pm in the youth room. Our theme this year will be “Do More/Be More”. This group has already laid the foundation for being servant leaders, they need the opportunities to now put their knowledge into practice. We will be doing many different activities, from movie making and using our gifts, to planning how to get out and be the disciples God is calling us to be. Our leaders this year will be Jodi Pfingsten and Paige Kratzer.
Kingdom Builders Adult Sunday School Class
Are you interested in learning more about the Bible in a teacher led discussion group, where diverse view points are welcome? The Goodwill Builder’s Sunday School class meets in the library and welcomes all ages of adults, although most of us are retirement age. We utilize the Adult Bible Studies quarterly, which is a United Methodist publication. Recently, the topic was “Overcoming Temptation” (maybe that’s not something you have problems with – but most of us do). We usually have a lively discussion. Often we even stick to the topic. We’ve been accused of “having too much fun.” But, if you’re interested in studying how the Bible is relevant to you in today’s world, we’re the class for you! We meet in the church Library from 10:45 am all year.
What the heck is U-Church? U-Church is a mid-week worship experience where people of all ages can have a great time while experiencing the amazing love of God. We like to call the experience, Spiri-tianment (a word our pastor made up). Spiri-tainment simply means that we think you’ll be able to have a wonderful spiritual experience and a terrific time.
Why should I come to U-Church? Let’s shoot straight, can we? We believe in a loving, caring God who wants to have a real relationship with us. We believe that God has done everything that needs to be done for us to have a great and vibrant relationship through Jesus Christ. We believe sharing that message and learning what that relationship means should be fun, exciting, and not done alone. So we’re just a bunch of people who think the United Methodist Church is a great place to hang out, learn about God, grow in our faith and have good times together. If you want to know more, come check it out for yourself, or give us a call—we’d love to hear from you.
Adult Discipleship Wednesday @ U-Church
We have a variety of classes available Wednesday evenings from 6:45-8 pm for all ages. Small groups usually are 4-6 week sessions. If you would like to know more about the classes we currently offer, give us a call at the church office, 356-1227.
- UMW (United Methodist Women)
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
- WEDNESDAY FELLOWSHIP DINNERS
Wednesday Night Fellowship Dinners are held every Wednesday throughout the school year from 6-6:45 p.m. in the Wesley Fellowship Hall. There are a series of seven meals that rotate. Dinner cost is by free will donation for those that come. Take home boxes are also available. These meals could not be done without the volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to serve or cleanup, or would like to know what’s on the menu contact the church office.
- WESTMINSTER BELL CHOIR
The Westminster Bell Choir plays for special occasions throughout the year. It is a self directed choir of about 8 ladies, but would love to add on. If interested contact Ofelia Guzman in the church office.
- FUMC SINGERS
Enjoy music? Like to sing? Come “make a joyful noise” with us! Any age is welcome. We try to sing a variety of upbeat songs in honor and praise to God! The choir singers usually practice two Wednesdays, then sing one Sunday per month from September through May. Practice is usually from 7:15 – 8:00 on the two Wednesdays, in the sanctuary, before we sing on Sunday. I almost always call to remind everyone on my list before the practices and before we sing. Please consider this your personal invitation. We would love to have you! If you wish to be added to the list, please call me at 356–1781 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the church office at 356-1227. God bless you. Esther Walker
